A Media Planner is a combination of a Scientist (Data), a Negotiator (Business), and a Psychologist (Consumer Behavior). Their ultimate goal is not merely to 'buy impressions,' but rather to 'create moments of conversation' between a brand and its consumers at the right time and in the right place. Without a competent Media Planner, no matter how brilliant an advertisement is, it will only be a 'whisper in the middle of a crowd' that is never heard by the intended target market.
